Building an O Gauge Layout DVD
Posted by dwiemer on Tuesday, January 16, 2007 6:16 PM

I just got the above video on advice from the Fastrack group.  While much of it is information that I had gained elsewhere, some was information I had not really grasped well before.  As I am currently building a large layout, this was timely information and very valuable.  I would suggest anyone who does not have a complete knowledge to their next layout to get this DVD.  It is especially good for the beginner, but also very helpful for the less than expert status of many of us.

Is it the one I talked about on the Coffee Pot earlier this past month?  One by TM Productions.  Based on Fasttrac but still great for everyone.  The bonus materials is done by Elliot Feinburg [the guy who is having skin cancer operation this month].

It is the TM video Chief.  While I did want to let everyone know about it and that I think it is a great video for guys like myself (and maybe ladies like Miss Lisa), I did not want to be accused of trying to sell something.

dwiemer,
Can you post the video's ISBN number?  Makes it a load easier to find on the sites!

Thanks,
Brent

88,

I got my copy through a site called www.oldies.com and the cost was under $13.00.  The ISBN number 1-932291-71-7.

Hope this helps, it really is a well done and very helpful video.  Some who "Know it all" may find it redundant, but I am sure most of us can gain some good information.

Sounds great - I bookmarked that site.  How are they on shipping for just one or two discs?

Don't recall exactly how long, but I think it was about 2 weeks for the delivery...I went with standard, which was about $3.00.

They also sent a catalog of some interesting cd's and other items.

A really great video. They edited down Elliot's part (building a 4x8 O gauge layout) just a bit (building the benchwork) but you get that on the main part of the video. I liked it and I don't even use Fastrack. The scenery making part is particularly well done. I like the trackplan they used for the Fastrack layout also.
