sea monkey aqarium car

Saw this at my LHS today. Seemed cool but I didn't like the Nemo car a few years back. Anyone know if it's motorized or is it driven off of the car's trucks? Might pick it up if it's motorized. I hate the gear driven models.

Well, I decided to pick one of these up today. And it's really cool. It's motorized and very well lit. Motor is quiet and smoother running than the vibrotor style.

Great graphics combined with the wavy plastic tank inserts make the sea-monkeys look great.

Highly recommend picking this up. I'll pair it up with my MPC aquarium car.

Well Daan,

I guess Sea-Monkey's are an American thing all though i pretty much thought they were international by now. I had them in the 70s. They're brine shrimp that you raise in a tank and they hatch pretty quickly. We usually killed them through overfeeding but they were kind of cool to hatch and grow.

   The ads for these kits were in comic books and magazines, and the sea Monkey Characters became very recognizeable to kids growing up in the 70s & 80s.

I grew-up in the 50's, and Sea Monkey ads were in every comic book. The ad illustration showed them in clothing...Mom, Dad, and the kids. It was our first lesson on "truth in advertising". Joe
