tex702,

Congratulations. Do you know whether you received a new revised transformer? Please provide the date code from the bottom of the device. Do you have an ohmmeter? If so, please check the continuity between the U posts, with nothing attached to the other terminals. Does the ohmmeter read zero ohms between U-below-A and U-below-B?

Do you notice any difference in the sound of the fan, relative to your old one? Inquiring minds really want to know!

I had the same experience when I called them about my CW-80.Smile [:)]  Them seem to be very good with replacing them.

Hello Tex702:

I like your style...asking for a ZW.  That is hilarious.  I am glad that Lionel is sending you a new transformer.  Despite many of the issues the company has had with its products over the past couple of years, I keep hearing really good stories about their customer service.  Kudos to Lionel.

Good luck with the new transformer.

Regards,

John O

Update On CW-80 Transformer

Some of you might recall the post I did about my CW-80 transfomer burning up.  From the advise of some of you guys I contacted Lionel by e-mail and told them the trouble I had with the transformer.  It took about four days but they finally answered my e-mail.  The e-mail said for me to contact their tech support and they gave me a number.  I contacted them by phone and I was helped by a very polite and understanding Lionel employee.  I told him the problem and he said that there would be no problem and that he would send out another CW-80 to me immediately.  I was suprised that he wasnt going to give me any hassel so I thought I would take it one step further and asked him if he might be intrested in upgrading the CW-80 to a ZW.  All I got out of him was a laugh.  All the same thanks to all you guys and especially Lionel.
