Good advice daan and ben10ben. I've been buying and selling on ebay for over 8 years and never had a real problem. I've even bought things from people in other countries that wouldn't ship to the US. I always contact the seller before bidding and mention all of the sellers from all of the different countries that I have purchased fromin the past and mention my 100% positive rating. They have always agreed to ship to me.

If Ebay were perfect, sellers would leave feedback as soon as they receive payment for the item. After all, what more can the buyer do to be a good buyer than pay promptly? Earlier this evening, I won an auction and paid with Paypal. Within the hour, the seller had left feedback. I generally try to do this with all of the items I sell, as well.

Unfortunately, far too many sellers abuse the feedback system with "I'll leave positive feedback for you if you leave positive feedback for me."  This completely ruins the whole purpose of the feedback system.

I also don't understand the idea of not selling to buyers with fewer than X number of feedback. Everyone has to start somewhere, and not everyone with low feedback is automatically bad. Since no one wants to buy from sellers with low feedback, how else can a buyer get feedback other than with buying?

Always check feedbacks. His feedback is a red flag. 110 total neg feedbacks and 75 in the last 12 months. Seems to be he can't keep track whats coming in and going out by the amount of auctions he's running at one time. He also states in his replys that he does not sell to bidders with less than 25 feedbacks but is not stated in his auctions. I only had one problem on ebay where it took me 4 weeks to contact about a item I bought. Said he had a death in the family. Had a few replys in his feedbacks with the same explanation for over two years. I emailed a few of his customers that left feedbacks for items bought after mine. They emailed me back with long wait problem for shipping. and a different excuse. Ebay pulled his account a year later.

Well said daan. I've been lucky on E-Bay and everything train-related has been delivered and was as advertised. The whole feedback thing is pretty shakey, though. Lots of people don't leave negative feedback because they don't want to receive negative feedback. This is especially true for someone who doesn't have a lot of transactions. A negative feedback or two for someone who has bought or sold hundreds or thousands of items isn't really that damaging. For someone who has only 20-30 transactions, it can be a killer.

I don't concider that as advice. Someone bought something, didn't read the feedbacks and then complains. The seller also complains and both the seller as the buyer have more then normal amounts of negative feedbacks. That tells you something about the way they behave and the effort they are prepared to do in order to find solutions.

The seller has a big problem keeping up his administration, resulting in loss and miscommunication, the buyer isn't strict in his email and phonecalls. If a seller doesn't ship, give him a period of 3 days to get it done and if it's not shipped by then, draw back the money you paid. (that's why paypal or a creditcard should be used for payment.)

I had one seller not sending, gave him a 3 day time to give me a shipping number to verify his shipping and told him I would withdraw the sell if the item is not shipped in that time. No negative feedback threatening, just a simple rule to follow. He shipped.

Threatening to leave negative feedback doesn't bring anything. Instead of threats, give a shipment ultimate and expect the seller to ship and verify in that time, otherwise the sale is off. Do that with an email you also send to yourself via the official ebay site and you covered yourself in case the seller gives negative feedback as not paying buyer.

And don't buy if you have doubts about the seller or if the feedback gives reasons to doubt. GOLDEN RULE!!

Interesting he has so many "good" feedbacks.  One must wonder what gives.

DON'T FRET THIS GUY.

THIS IS A GUY WHO SELLS REAL LOW COST ITEMS, LOTS OF BIDDING RULES AND REAL LOW COST SHIPPING. HE LOOKS FOR VOLUME OF SALES TO MAKE HIS MONEY. IT IS PROBABLY A FULL TIME JOB FOR HIM.

I TOO AM BANNED FROM HIS SITE......I CRY ALL THE WAY TO THE BANK...  IF YOU HAVE A SPARE MOMENT, CHECK THE FEEDBACK. HE GETS IT, BUT DOESN'T LEAVE ANY...EXCEPT NEGATIVE.  AFTER ABOUT 10-15 PURCHASES...MOST OF HIS AUCTIONS ARE 'DUTCH TYPE' WITH MULTIPLE PER LOT.....I LEFT FEED BACK THAT SAID...." THERE'S NOTHING MORE TO SAY" .....YOU CAN CHECK IT OUT....AFTER THAT, WITHOUT ANY COMMUNICATION..... I AM PROHIBITED FROM BIDDING ON HIS LOTS.

BTW, IT TAKES ABOUT 5 MINUTES, IF THAT, TO SET UP A SECOND, THIRD, ETC IDENTITY ON EBAY. SO IF YOU WANT SOMETHING ON HIS SITE, IT IS AS EASY AS PIE TO GET IT....HE PROHIBITS ID'S NOT NAMES.

HE IS IN NEED OF OUR PRAYERS MORE THAN OUR CRITICISM.

The story behind this one must be really interesting... the seller is angry, and he just won't take it anymore...
