The World's Greatest Hobby train show will be at the Indiana Fair Grounds on January 6th and 7th. More info. is at: http://www.wghshow.com/showinfo/ind/ind.htm I'm looking forward to wandering around the site. There have been many nice layouts in the past at the fair grounds. I am not sure if the WGH has sponsored one before but it certainly looks like it will be good.

Well the Worlds Greatest Hobby train show in Indianapolis was a rocking place today. This was the largest show I have seen at the State Fairgrounds and some friends in the NMRA booth and a couple of vendors agreed. It was great to see the likes of Lionel, MTH, Athearn, Atlas, Bachmann, Woodland Scenics, etc, etc. etc, and etc. in attendance. I snapped a few shots and will post below. They are open tomorrow from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Ride, walk, or crawl if you enjoy train shows.......

I was there as well. I could not believe how many people were there. I got to talk to people from Lionel, MTH, and Atlas O. Atlas O had their new 0-27 Atlantic there for the Industrial Rail Line, and it was a nice little engine. The person there thought MSRP would be around $150, which is not a bad price. Lots of layouts and vendors, but not much Lionel/MTH available to buy. There was a lot of Thomas stuff. I was a little disappointed Kalmbach had no one there. I went to their booth and all there was was some registration forms for a MR contest.

You are welcome John. It was good to see so many kids and mothers and fathers at the show. There were lot of strollers being used for the little folk. The Thomas Engine play area was a great idea and was used by many....and that fellow making balloon animals and shapes may have carpal tunnel today! World's Greatest Train advertised on television and radio. This was a well planned event and when I think of how little mass media exposure toy trains get I can see how important these shows are. Yes it is all about cash flow at the end of the day for many but so is every aspect of life. My wife and I were glad to go and pay the entrance fee and support this event. If you get a chance to get to a WGH show please try to, along with supporting any other train show coming down the pike.. er rails.....
