I think it looks pretty cool the features are fabulous.  But will it be worth all of the hype.

I think (hope) it'll be better than anyone knows!  I base that on pictures I saw somewhere of a sort of desktop unit that had a blank rectangular area just about the right size for an LCD screen and the knowledge that Neil Young is a cool guy who likes neat technology. What I'm hoping for is a GUI that lets you see and control your layout on the screen and maybe eventually even onboard camera playback via said screen. I think the feedback idea in the handheld is brilliant and the way the system looks and goes together, I have to wait to get TMCC but I will get it.

What do I think of it?  Well, gee, I don't know because I haven't seen it yet (nor has anyone else outside of Lionel's inner circles and, I believe, a demo or two).

When it does become available, I'll wait six or so months before making an investment because I will want to read reports from actual users before I plunk down any money.  Just about every new technology has glitches when it is first introduced, and there's no reason to believe that this system will be any different in that respect.

I have had the original TMCC since it was first introduced, and also have DCS.  Of the two, my personal preference is for DCS because of the versatility it offers.  That's strictly a personal choice based on what I want, look for, need, or can afford, and every individual has to make his or her own decision based on those same factors.

It's impossible to render a fair evaluation of a product that does not yet exist, so I'll reserve my opinion until I see what actual users have to say, and then make up my own mind one way or the other.

Comparing TMCC and DCS is comparing technologies developed approximately 10 years apart.  I am confident that TMCC II will advance the technology bar beyond DCS and MTH will respond with something new also.  It is the nature of competition.

If TMCC II becomes a major threat to DCS i wonder if MTH will make a new system.

Very well said Earl. I wouldn't be suprised if MTH had something in the works right now.
