I never had any club engines because i discover k-line right before they went bust but those club engines looked like great deals.

I have yet to buy a K-line product that I didn't like.
My first was a club Trainmaster. $225 got me one with TMCC, Railsounds, and smoke. Back when the K-line first came out, it completely blew any other Trainmasters available from the major manufacturers out of the water.
I was able to pick up a couple of reefers from Davis Trains after K-line was out of business. I got lucky and ended up with three for around $60, which is hard to beat. I think that they were a bit high at their original $60 or $65 retail price(compared to the $50 Atlas ones). They were at least 90% as the Atlases, though, and a real bargain at the $20-30 closeout price.
Since I'm a passenger car fan, I'll restrict my comments to that. In my opinion, K-Line made the best looking semi-scale streamlined passenger cars in their "Streamliner" line. They are not as high or wide as other brand's semi-scale, which gives them a "more real" (less stubby/toylike) look. They have great paint, very decent detail, interiors, and great lighting. The price could not be beaten, as well. You do, however, need to run them with semi-scale engines to look "right".
The other item they made that "beat all the others" was the animated "Watchman Shanty", and I own all 3 (MTH: OK, Lionel: way too big/toylike for me personally). If Lionel does not continue making it, they're crazy. Joe

I have to agree with the semi scale passanger cars. They were great looking.
I really liked the 027 low profile switches with aux power and lights ! Much better than Lionel 027 swithces.
