The original Halloween General has an open-frame spur geared motor. The LCCA Lionel made repro has a CAN motor. Jon

I'm looking for a photo of the Western Atlantic repro of the set collectors call the halloween set.I just purchased a loco and I'm not sure if it is a re-paint or origional. I love it but the number seems wrong.

Lionel produced the 52300 Halloween General set as a members-only item for the Lionel Collectors Club of America in 2004.  The cab number was 1882, just as on the loco in the original Sears set.

The only one I can think of is the one Lionel did for the LCCA.

You might want to check their web site.
