Jake, I have a trick for sketching a layout using traditional tubular track:

For O31 (O27) track, use 1 (1.25) inch per graph-paper square.  A straight section is 10 (7) units long if aligned with the graph-paper lines, or 7x7 (5x5) if at 45 degrees to the graph.  A curved section fits in a 10x4 (7x3) box.

This is not exact, but it is close, within about 1 percent.

I live east of Columbus.  Chuck, aka Blueberry, lives near Cambridge.   I had a buddy who belonged to a group that owned a camp near the WV-VA State Line, just south of the Smoke Hole.

Fred, are you by any chance a fly fisherman?  I have fished the Smoke Hole in WV six years ago.  

My daughter is a WVU graduate and last night went to see the movie, We are Marshall.  She said she had never cried so hard in a movie.

Fred, best place to buy graph paper is Office Depot or Office Max, or Staples.  You can get several sizes, up to 11"x 17", and 4 squares per inch to 10 squares per inch.

I have not seen graph paper on line, but you can run over to the nearest CVS and they should have it.  I just recently purchased graph paper at CVS in Ironton, Ohio.
