I got these with some HO, I'd bought on Ebay and don't know who made them, and thought some one here would have an idea bout them.
Their all metal except the couplers [plastic], about 8" long and 2" wide. The only markings are on the gondola,, MAR toys, made in America.
Any help ya'll might be would be more than welcome

Lionel collector, stuck in an N scaler's modelling space.
Definately Marx. These look like the "scale" Marx cars from the look of it. Marx. Marx was a low cost toy producer. Check out Marx on Wikipedia and you can get much more information. Also, others will be along soon that know more than me. Or look on ebay for Marx trains.

Jim's probably right, but I know when I was a kid & got all the hand me downs from the relatives, that I had some old 3rail American Flyer stuff & I thought they had that kind of coupler.
Thanks, John
CSXect wrote:Am I right by saying thoses are Marx 3/16th scale O gauge cars? I have the gondola in a set I picked up at an estate sale it was headed with the 999 locomotive. By the way scale and gauge are not the same thing gauge refers to the width of the track and scale is the models overall proportions.
Yes.
I just want to thank every one for the help. I thought they were Marks, but wanted to make sure. I'm guessingthey were made shortly afer WW2 with the plastic couplers
They may have seen their better days and not worth much, but they've found a home on a self here and added to our collection, I luv the older stuff.
The wife keeps saying "NO MORE TRAINS", the house is full now of trains now and in boxes. Maybe I do have trains
So again thanks for the help
