I've hooked up the Lionel rotary coal tipple under TMCC, using an SC-2 controller. The owners manual for the rotary coal tipple suggests wiring the tipple power to the track in order to keep the tipple track at the same power level as the rest of the track (p. 4). The SC-2 manual, on the other hand, state that accessories need to be externally powered (p. 19).
I tried powering the tipple to the track and it cut out my ZW transformer green light.
Before I re-wire I'd like to hear others' experiences.

I hooked my roatary coal tipple right to the accessory posts on my Z4000, and never have had a problem.
Oh, if you get tempted to use anything but the 6-24148 packs of coal...don't! Unless you want to get intimate with the inner workings and gears of your accessory...and, nooooo, it wasn't fun...
Oh, sorry to change the subject, but did you guys see where Atlas is making cars with a rotary coupler on one end ? Wonder if they will work with The Lionel rotary coal dumper !
Thanks, John
