TAS TMCC board quits
Posted by overall on Thursday, October 23, 2003 7:56 PM
Fellow O Gaugers, I solicit your advice.

I installed a TAS TMCC conversion board in a Williams GE diesel back in April of this year. The engine performed flawlessly up until two days ago when it just quit and refused to move. At the time I was running it as part of a two unit lash-up with another similarly equiped Williams diesel. I stopped them to make a coupling to some cars when the engine just refused to move. I have taken the body shell off the engine and inspected the board as best I can. I can see no obvious failed compnents on the board, nothing looks "smoked up".There was no burn out odor. I tried to simply re-program the engine, but to no avail. I know the problem is inside the engine as all the other TMCC locomotives work fine. All of the connections I made still look tight.

Is there something I've missed?

Thank you in advance for your help.

I think you might want to try calling TAS directly. I'm not one of their customers, but, from what I hear about them, they do an excellent job supporting their customers.

If you don' t get an answer here, perhaps you should try posting this problem on the OGR TMCC forum. The folks from TAS particpate on that forum & answer questions.

Good luck!

Tony
