I tried it with the small transformer that came with my Lionel set (whatever the smallest one they make now, smaller than the CW-80) and with the Powerchief that came with the K Line.

Before returning the set have you tried the MP-15 with a different transformer?  The MP-15's had problems with the motors or circuit boards when they first came out about nine years ago, don't know about the newer MP-15's, had to return my MP-15 to K-Line to get it fixed.

MP-15 Horn sounds like Morse Code

I just bought a K Line Fast Freight set at Hobby Lobby.  The Horn on the MP-15 engine worked about 3 times on my Fastrack "layout" (starter loop and 4 extra straights on the floor).  After that nothing, the lights would get brighter and my Lionel engine still belw the horn on that track.

So I set up the  Snap Track and the Power Chief that came with the set.  The horn works OK in reverse but forwards it cuts in and out , sounds like Morse code.

Am I doing somthing wrong or did I get a bad engine?

Hobby Lobby will take it back and they have anothere one in stock, I just dont want to return it if it is just operator error.

Thanks again
