No, not a great deal of things. The watchamn stands out as one. American Flyer also had a similar accessory called Semaphor Sam. Marx did offer a plastic signal tower somewhat like Lionel's that was later carried by K-Line. Most of Marx's tin items were stations. Of course, they did have the tin signal towers (in two different heights), two versions of their tin gantry crane then later a cheaper, plastic version. Their crossing signals were pretty good. The Marx plastic buildings were very similar to Plasticville and most were also carried by K-Line. These are easy to find on Ebay.
Sounds like the Marx version of the gateman. The man is attached to the door and not a separate track and there is a plastic gate.
It would help if you could post a picture of it. Also, how do you know that it was made by Lionel?
