I'm not sure if the bulbs are the same. The head is different. For bulbs and most any parts for Marx trains, check out The Robert Grossman Co. http://www.trainpartsformarx.com

Thanks for the info, as it turns out most of my accessories are Marx (i found the Id stamp). I have a rotary beacon and a 4 light tower, do you know if the bulbs and the rotarty head are the same as the lionel?

No, not a great deal of things. The watchamn stands out as one. American Flyer also had a similar accessory called Semaphor Sam. Marx did offer a plastic signal tower somewhat like Lionel's that was later carried by K-Line. Most of Marx's tin items were stations. Of course, they did have the tin signal towers (in two different heights), two versions of their tin gantry crane then later a cheaper, plastic version. Their crossing signals were pretty good.
The Marx plastic buildings were very similar to Plasticville and most were also carried by K-Line. These are easy to find on Ebay.

That's it, it is a Marx. I have a few towers and such that don't have a Lionel ID tag on them. Did Marx make a lot of things like that which are similar to the lionel

Sounds like the Marx version of the gateman. The man is attached to the door and not a separate track and there is a plastic gate.

Mine is a bit different then the 45N. Mine has a working stop gate and the gateman is holding a stop sign. I thin kthe gateman is also just connected to the door, i don't think he has a track that he moves in.

I will try to get a pic of it tonight. I'm not 100% sure it is lionel but the train set was given to me by my fater in law and it was all lionel i think.

Sounds like it could be a Lionel 45N Gateman. The forum software is not permitting me to post a direct link, but check item number 200052964282 on eBay for a picture.

It would help if you could post a picture of it.  Also, how do you know that it was made by Lionel?

I have a Lionel Gateman and i was wondering if anyone can tell me exactly which one it is. It is a red and white metal building with a light. i has a white platic stop arm. When the arm goes down the door opens withthe gateman on it. I have looked on Ebay but i can't find one just like it.
