Just checked out choochoo auctions and they have a nice selection and good prices, did not see any junk on the site!

I agree. I've pretty much given up on Ebay, unless I'm looking for junk to repaint or tweek.
Choochooauctions has been working for me. Just don't let anyone else know. I don't want the competition.

not incorrect on CTT.  I use it a lot and mention it a lot on here.  Bought 90% of my modern diesels and a large part of my modern rolling stock from it.  Met some nice guys and honest too.

eBay is the best way to reach the most people. That's where I sell my surplus postwar trains that don't get sold through my website. You are welcome to send your for sale list to my email address below.

TrainCity has a decent buy/sell board.

If you're a member, the TCA eList for sales should be a godd forum.

Of course, if you can be patient as well as if you're a TCA member, there's always York.

I have quite a few items that I would like to trade or sell and I have had terrible experiences with Ebay in the past year. Any other avenue to go - I see Trainz.com has a buy sel board but how effective is that route?
