Greetings! I thought that perhaps I was the only one around that came up with the idea of combining the realism and operationality of Lionel (O Scale) engines and rolling stock with the flexibility and scratchbuild worthyness of Lego buildings and track-side scenery. It's great to hear that there are others out there! I'm building a "U" shaped shelf layout in a 11'x11' room and am using Lionel FasTrack and trains (as well as MTH & RMT equipment). The layout surface consists of a combination of Lego roadplates and well as green (grass) and gray (gravel) baseplates. The FasTrack roadbed looks fantastic on the baseplates. For buildings thus far, I've built the Lego Train Crossing Kit as well as the Central Station kit. I've altered the Crossing's walkway to accomodate the large Lionel F7 Diesel Engine that I have. On both the Crossing and Station, I've added "rear" walls as to make the buildings realistic from any angle. I've also come up with a special design for the Crossing's track crossing to work with the FasTrack. So far-so good.
