I am working on my "smaller than coffetable" layout now. 32"x27" - because thats what I have for space on a shelf in our 850 sq ft condo and my wife is in on the project.

Off to buy some "laser cut" structures this weekend and will begin posting photos of progress soon on the "Model Railroader" forum if you care to check in in abot a week or three.

Yes - a bunch of people have.

There are pros who do this for people. I have even heard of a dinning room table made into a layout.

You can check them out at ModelRailroader.com

You would probably have much better luck if you post your question on the "Model Railroader" forum, where N people hang out. This forum is for toy trains, like Lionel and American Flyer, that is, mostly O and S gauge tinplate.
