Born and raised in Youngstown, Ohio, in a time when trains were everywhere--including steam power.  B.A. and M.A. from Ohio State, and taught on the faculty there for a couple of years before moving to Hawaii and later to Maryland, Wisconsin, Iowa, and now Virginia.  So I guess I qualify as a Buckeye even though I haven't lived there in many years.

I am not only a Buckeye, but I have also seen and heard the Buckeye MTH train set run with all of its sounds and music.  Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]

The train not only plays the fight song, but it has the announcers for the 2002 National Championship calling the game.

As a Northwestern alum, I look upon OSU with disdain and envy.  It does not help matters that I am married to a Michigan grad.

That being said, as a Big 10/11 supporter, I will be rooting for the Buckeyes to kick the snot out of the Trojans (I am hoping they put a whooping on the Irish) in the BCS title game.  I will also be rooting for the rest of the B10/11 bretheren in their bowl games.

Born and raised on the west side of Cleveland about a block away from "Train Avenue" so you know what was moving through the neighborhood. Relocated to Indana 31 years ago but still go to games and root for the Indians and Browns. I'll still claim to be a Buckeye but not a big, constant OSU fan.............. but this year I am. Got to see them last year as they beat up on Indiana..... ouch! What a team this year though too. Wow!

Went to college in Pittsburg, that is about as close as I have lived to Ohio.  I did change planes and peed in the airport restroom in Cleveland...does that count?

I've lived in the Pacific Northwest all my live, but I have a sister who moved to Ohio 20+ years ago, and will not move back, (I'm sure it's not because I live here). Tell me, does that make me a shirttail relative Buckeye of Ohio?

And no, I have not seen the MTH buckeye train set. Is there really such a thing? I'll wait for the MTH Hooterville express.

Someone asked the questions if this was a real trainset and the answer is YES.  It is made by MTH and has just started to hit the dealers in the Columbus area.  It is liscensed by THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY.   M&S Trains in Columbus did have one running in his shop about two weeks ago.

Chiming in here. I'm a Northeast transplant to the Buckeye State. I have been away from the forum for a while, but I'm still here.
I'm not an OSU fan, but they are the best team in the country, and I don't think anyone else in the top 10 would beat them right now.

Wow, this post sure was burried.

I'm a Buckeye.  I was born in Athens Country, and Live in Columbus now.  I just so happen to be in the market for that exact train, if I could just find one locally.  I'll try that M&S store to see if they still have one.  It is for a ceiling mounted train track.

Do these "entry level" MTH trains run on regular 027 track?
