I have one of their GP-9/18s. It is a good, reliable runner with adequate detailing. I am not crazy about the handrails, but that's just me. It reminds me a lot of the older Athearn HO models - dependable, good runners without a lot of extra detail. Wish I had room to set up an S gauge layout again!

I've got several American Models diesels, and they've all been pretty solid runners. Bewlo is a listing of the american Models products we've reviewed. As you can see, they have the largest line of locomotive types in S gauge.

Does anyone own an S Gauge diesel made by American Models?  Are the sound systems comparable to Lionel RailSounds in terms of quality?  Are they smooth runners?

I never bought any S gauge model before, but I like what I saw on the American Models website and was looking for any substantiating feedback... thanks!
