Again, thank you all for your positive responses to our layout. I'm glad it has been so well received.

Stan, our layout is L-shaped. 10 x 8 feet. Each leg is 4 1/2 feet wide.

Thanks, everyone!

Jim

That just might be one of the best looking layouts I've seen in a long while! And best of all, it's ATTAINABLE to the average guy with average space!

I hope you wrote a book, cause I'm on line to buy it!

Kalmbach publishing of course!

I'm making my conifers the exact same way as Jim though they haven't turned out nearly as nice. Well done. Thanks for resurrecting the link

Great layout! I love the colors of the fall, nice idea to give the layout a beautifull layer of colours and it looks very realistic.. I was in doubt about a fall forest looking silly on a layout, but it turns out great, you draw me over the line with it. Thanks for sharing, I love these kind of pictures..

Can't add to what has already been said.  Very Very Nice work.  If you are getting cold up there in Yankee land, I am putting track down and could use some help with scenery.  Just kidding, our whole family is involved in this project.

Thanks to all of you for your very kind words! I'm glad the photos of our little layout were enjoyed.

I'll be posting the remainder in future Sunday photo fun threads.

Buckeye, I did start a thread some months back showing how I made the conifer trees. Below is the link.

Thanks again!

Great job Jim.  Proves you don't need a monster layout to do good scenery.  Post more pictures soon.

Think we need to see more layouts like this in CTT and less monster ones that were custom built.  this is more of the average reader's size.  Excellent quality in scenery.

Jim, I always like seeing photos of your layout.  Keep posting.

BTW, didn't you once post on the forum how you made trees?

Ditto!  Fall is the most photogenic season, I think.  You do a good job of capturing the mid-Fall mix of colors.

Jim,
As I've stated before, your's is a great layout that crosses the categories of "toy train" and "hi rail and scale". Great job. I'd love to see some overview shots.

Outstanding job! The backdrops are great, too. Wish I'd taken the time to do them on my railroad.
