I don't mind if the cars overhang on the curves.  I'm using the O-22 switches and can't see anything that would get in the way.

Thank you again for all the replies.

I have one of the old fliers.  The cars are cleared for O-31.  This means they won't bind/derail going through an O-31 curve.  It doesn't mean they will clear all switches or look good doing so.

I don't know for sure that they would run - I guess they would, but it strikes me they sure will look funky with all that overhang.

I have the Sante Fe el Capitan set of passenger cars that are 16inches long and run fine on 031 curves, also have the King Coal set of Reading passenger cars and they can navigate 027 curves.

If not sure with Williams on curves try it & see what happens!

Yes, I have run modern Williams Golden Memories passenger cars on O-31 curves, and through Lionel O-22 switches. They work just fine. As others have stated, beware the overhang! Make sure if you get a set to get modern ones. I have some from the early 1980's that will not work on O-31 curves. These came with non-operating couplers.

If you have scenery or structures close to the curved track, some minor adjustments may need to be made.  My 15" MTH passenger cars hit the infrared detector box due to the overhang.  I moved it  about 1/8" and it works fine.

William's 60' Aluminum Luxury liners on O-31 curves?
Posted by Birds on Saturday, October 28, 2006 9:19 AM
Does anyone run the William's traditional line 60' aluminum luxury liners on O-31 curves?  If so how well do they work around that size curve?

(William's website no longer lists the minimum radius curve for these cars.)

Thanks,
Chris
