This set is not made to run on ANY track, only the floor. The wheels don't have flanges, but are "ribbed" for traction. I bought one for my 2-year-old Grandson, who uses it as a push-toy. I'ts very nice, especially for the price. It's sold at just about any train show. Joe

It's small - won't run on O gauge track. That said, these folks also make or rather made the famous wind-up 'Rail Zeppelin'  - two flavors still floating out there: Lionel and all-chrome. I just got the latter for myself which I'm saving for Christmas.

Would you say it is closer to HO, N, or S scale? 

Also, is there a part number on the box.  I would like to find it locally if I could.

Good afternoon all,

I have a streamliner version of the same thing.  There is a brand of plastic track by Tomy that was used for some Thomas material a few years ago.  I run the set on that.  Sometimes if I wind it too much, it flies off the curves!

Actually it is NEW, kinda small though.  Runs on floor or carpet, will no go up an incline.

BTW, I know of 3 more that are available, cost would be $10 plus $6 shipping if anyone wants me to pick them up one.

NEW as in brand new just made or new old stuff?  Because if its new as in just made, thats a great project to motorize and make it run electrically as well as having it for a clockwork toy. I like clockwork, always did.

The real story.....
It is actually a toy, manufactured by Schylling, of Rowley MA, and licensed by Lionel.  But will certainlly make an interesting conversation item.  Looking forward to taking to the train club when I return home.   Price actually was $10, it is NEW, with the Box, and is Mint.
