Supposedly RMT will be giving away a new catalog at York.  I hope one of you guys pick one up and give us a review after you return.

Have fun, while many of us toil under the yoke of............Oh! never mind.

jonadel - I won't be hitting the bandit meets on Wednesday.  Some of us still have to work for a living and are fortunate enough to live right next door to York.  Big Smile [:D]

I was wondering do you guys go to York looking for something in particular or just for something to catch your eye?

Just going to "look and learn" is my usual goal, and I'm lucky to live only 2 hours away. This time, I'll be buying a new Miller Engineering animated sign, due-in next week. It's also a great chance to see items in operation. I probably would not have bought the neat MTH operating station platform or box car, had I not seen them "in action" at their booth at York. Joe

Joe, Are you going to join us at the CTT both on Friday?

Doug,

I usually look for parts, interesting accessories, cars to complement cars I have. I also like to look through the new products in the Orange (Dealer) Hall. And finally - good ol' PA Funnel Cakes with lots of powdered sugar!

Thanks Doug, I had seen that add earlier and I was hoping that perhaps they might be at York. I have 3 passenger trains that I want to fill up with folks enjoying train travel.

Thanks for the reminder :)

Jon, Not sure as to what you are looking for pertaining to seated people. Check out this site, sometime this month they were supposed to receive what appears to me the same as the K-Line people packs.

Best advice is bring only what you want to spend at the show + expenses and stick to it,  I have never pulled the plastic out and don't intend to either.

I do have a list of needs & wants:

Needs: seated pasengers by the dozens--painted, telephone poles--dozens, more standing people that are the correct size, more coal cars, a Lionel TMCC Command Base and an MTH's cable to connect the Command Base to the TIU.

Wants: a Climax engine or Shay. My dream is to have a bigger lumber operation in 3 years. I really would love to find some tin plate that I could afford..............

My biggest fear is that my wants will exceed the budget very quickly.

In years past I have had a list but not this year.  The only thing remotely on my radar is some Fast Track pieces and even there nothing specific.  Nope this is just a few days to get away from it all.

I have a fairly specific list of things I am seeking:

one of these with tender is just about top of the list:

a set of these:

a few of these:

one of these:

some of these of the NYC variety:

beyond these - am looking for interesting figures and 40's ear vehicles, as well as lots of "clutter" oil drums, tanks, tires, wheels, crates, pallets etc to fill out some scenes as well as some interesting building kits.
