As Mitch has stated, you won't have the problems with a reversing loop with 3 rail like you would 2.  That is one of the big bennefits with 3 rail.  If you do a search of "Wall layouts" or something along those lines here, you should pick up  a few threads with ideas.  Some of the guys have outstanding layouts with scenery on the wall.  Looks good and leaves the floor space open in the room.  As to mounting it to the wall, you have many options, but I do not think you need to be as heavy as 2 2x4s, you could use 1x6 and have it mounted on some shelf brackets to the wall studs.
Good Luck,

The simple answer is no, there should be no problems, with a reverse loop using FasTrack.

Take care.

Simple Wiring Question
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, September 28, 2006 12:45 AM

Does 3-rail O such as FasTrack have the wiring problems 2-rail track has in a reversing loop? I'm considering an O36 wall layout since I don't have any room, was thinking of linking 2 4'x4' boards with a track along the wall connecting them, right now I think my son would like any train even if I just took a picture but it would be nice to do something a little more permanent and create a long-distance dogbone.

As always, thanks for your help everyone!
