awesome steamer. It should run very smooth, the transmissionbelt takes away the shoks the motor produces at low speeds and has close to no friction. Did you discover why the wires where melted?

I picked this non-running 3rd Rail CB&Q 4-8-4 for a good price and found out the original wiring harness "melted down". With the help of Gary from 3rd Rail this baby is hi-ballin' again!!!
