You say your marx engines died on you?  I have over 30 of them and run them frequently, no "funerals".  They are susceptible to dirty track tho.  I have to keep my track clean and clean the loco wheels, much more frequently than Lionel.  Other than that, never a problem.

As I mentioned, I purchased a Commodore Vanderbilt that this guy painted and serviced. His engines run as good as they look! He does a masterful job of painting and detailing. Some of the schemes are a bit far-out (he has a purple 333 up for bids) but a lot are to my liking.

If I win, I'm going to try to find some beat-up baby madison cars (or some used Williams O-27 cars) and paint them in the same shade of blue.

As to Marx engines in general, they are what they are: toys. However, they are extremely durable and very easy to work on. Even a real beater can usually be made to run.

I wasn't being critical, just thought that maybe you hadn't noticed the link button as it took me a while to figure it out.

On my other computer, for some reason, I had to go to firefox as a browser to make this software work.  Using IE here just fine.

I see Dr. John is still high bidder, but got over three days to go.  Hope he wins.

Marx aint in my ballpark. I have owned some but all the ones I owned died on me. I only buy them now if I have the money to blow or if I am desprate for some new trains.

The guy selling this does some really nice work! I picked up a Marx Commodore Vanderbilt he did in a burgundy and nickle scheme a few months ago and love it.

I found a cool item on Ebay and just had to share. A plastic Marx locomotive and tender all done up like an old tin plate. It looks awesome! Talk about inspirational. This gives me lots of ideas.
