gluing wood to plastic

The one thing I have found to be important, regardless of glue type, is to roughen up the plastic suface which the wood is to be glued to. This can be done with rough sandpaper, or using a hobby knife or razor to create some surface scratches. Then immediately after gluing, to use some kind of clamps to hold everything in securely in place.

I've had good luck with "GOOP" for gluing dissimilar materials.

I have had good success bonding wood to plastic using regular Ambroid or Testors plastic cement.  The kind in a tube, not the liquid plastic cement.  Been using it for years to fasten plastic wall panels and floors to wood bracing and reinforcement.

Well, that dependshow strong the bond should be.
For simple applications normal hobby glue (usually dissolved celluloseacetate in acetone) will do.
If there will be stress on the bond, you could try acrylonitrile based glue (1 second glue and similar tradenames).
Actually wood and plastic are both relatively easy to bond to, as compared to earthware, metals, glass, etc.
