has anyone had any luck in shorting the tender coupling to make some what realistic?

ever tried replacing to coupler with a shorter one??

Why would you want to alter a Lionel anyway? I never modify any of my Lionels, I do occasionally to my few MTHs and Williams, but never to a Lionel. It depreciates the value.
