Union Pacific should make a Lionel Lines Heritage Diesel.

They should also make a MTH Electric Trains also.

I have a 8444 and a Big Boy. I gave a Big Turbine to a good

Friend of mine in SC. I also gave him a MTH 49er train.

Since the 7 Heritage locos are all the SD70ACE in which MTH already has manufactured the tooling the only additional expense will be the 7 paint masks. My guess the total amount ordered no matter what paint scheme is the driver which should be an easy number to reach.

As I said once before, I wouldn't get too awfully excited about these engines until you see them on the MTH shipping schedule with arrival dates. I'm not saying it to be cruel, but MTH does have more a reputation more than anyone else for cancellations of items that have already just been cataloged.

Shortly after every catalog of the past few years, comes the lengthy cancellation list. Mike Wolf has said he isn't producing anything that doesn't generate enough pre-orders. The train forums have been full of complaints over cataloged MTH items not seeing the light of production.

I can understand to some degree. Look at the many many new items K-Line introduced in their last few years and how many of them became blowouts. The comapnies and their dealer networks don't make money on blowouts. So I suspect MTH is trying to minimize this from happening. More so than any other company, I'd say pre-ordering with MTH is more important if you want to see the cataloged item you like get made.

Anyone that really wants one of these Heritage Scheme diesels had better pre-order one, and hope enough others do too. Or the "Big Bang" of the new 2007 catalog will be when you find out what you want ain't being made.

In the TrainMan Line the prices are consistent for all the roads, so far.

Atlas O already has a licencing agreement with Union Pacific Railroad, but MTH and Lionel are still without the licencing agreement.

Hopefully, even without a licencing agreement MTH employees will work hard to make sure the markings on these special Heritage units are an exact duplicate of the real locomotives.

For Example: M-K-T could become M-T-K if they were careless, or M-T-H if they were sneaky.

What would you estimate the price to be with licensing fee for a Atlas Trainman version of the Union Pacific SD70ACE locomotive.

What the TMCC operators would like to have is an ATLAS O TrainMan Line SD70ACe Diesel-Electric Locomotives so the UP Heritage SD70ACe series will be affordable to purchase.

Will we have to wait for two more months to see photos of the MTH Premier Sets in the 2007 Volume 1 Catalog?

Will the people who choose the paint colors at MTH get the Green and Yellow right on the Chicago & North Western unit UP 1995? Some CNW Units made by MTH have had the right shade of Green or the right shade of Yellow, but will this one have both?

MTH UP Heritage diesels

Read in the MTH Crossing Gate club mag that the UP Heritage diesels will kick off in Jan with one set each month for 7 months. I have the Katy, Western Pacific, and D&RG on my no brainer list. Hoping that my three will release every other month and not one after another. Anyways will start putting a Ben Franklin away each week until kick-off. Mike will be kicking off 2007 with a bang.
