Lionel collector, stuck in an N scaler's modelling space.
What the photo don't show is a lot of rust on the wheels and some coupler issues on the cars. I am trying to clean the wheels up the best I can. the traction tires seem to be in tact and the motor runs.
It was a lucky find. The last time I found a train at a thrift store it was a 1930's lionel caboose.
CSXect = What a great looking set. I checked it out on the Model Train Journal. I've not been so fortunate to find a set like yours.

Don't know about the whole set but the 211 Texas Special AA's are listed between $110.00 and $190.00 for the engines, depending on condition. For the whole group I would not offer more than $250.00 top bid. Start the bidding low or you will be the only bidder, also see if there is a reserve price to meet, if so bidding below the reserve won't get you the item.

I have found a set of 211 texas special with two tank cars, a gondola and an operating hourse car and a caboose with a loop of track.
What do you think a fair asking price is? It goes up for sale tomarrow and I hope no one gets there before me.
