Jim:
HO scale is 3.5mm to 1 foot. (It's a silly way to do it, but...) It come from dividing the 56.5 inch track gauge by 16.5mm HO gauge.
The ratio is about 1:87.1.
It's a little bigger than 1/8" to the foot and smaller than 1/7" to the foot.

Help with scale conversion please: HO scale

Not meaning to ask a stupid question here but I was calculating a series of photographs to HO scale and I'm ending up with some weird conversions.

Can anyone help me to easily calculate true structures to scale? HO: Is it 1/4? 1/8?

I am re-introducing myself to scale architectural models. I asked some architecture friends of mine to help me with HO scale but they are not really into railroading.

Thanks!
