Cleaning MTH fluted high gloss aluminum pass. cars

I have a set of 70' MTH high-gloss silver aluminum fluted passenger cars which are spotted with perspiration (they were displayed too close to our treadmill). I've tried cleaning them with mild soap and water, but the spots remain. Does anyone have any suggestions for a cleaning product or process? Thanks.

The spots may be a little bit of aluminum oxide. I am far from an expert, so don't try this unless some one more knowledgable has commented, but have you tried a little buffing compound & a buffing wheel on a dremel tool? This might do the trick.

A couple of years ago I purchased the MTH El Capitan Santa Fe set with the aluminum cars. The set was new but two or three of the cars had some strange stains on the roof. I ended up using Turtlewax car wax (in the tin, not liquid). I rubbed some on, let it dry totally, wiped off and the stains were gone. An added bonus was the brighter shine from the application!
