I have gotten quite a few items off of E-Bay, just gotta exercise a certain amount of caution. When one is on somewhat of a budget you really look in all the nooks and crannies for good buys, both new and used. Blush [:I]

Cool - that is a great pic and an even better deal!  If you're smart on ebay, you can find some great deals, but you have to be patient as well -- not my strong suit!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Nice scene. Little scenes draw the eye into the various parts of the layout and are separated by space or viewblocks (buildings, trees etc). Looks like you've got the technique down pat.

The closest I got to that is an Industrial Rail $15 work caboose. I stuck a motor inside it and am building a wooden track for it (well, not yet, but gonna). The photos are in the SUnday photo thread.

I'm awaiting my first eBay purchase, a Lionel docksider. First train purchased in 2 years and I'm excited like a kid. Keep lookin for the brown truck with the athletic lady carrying the box to me with a tantalizing smile and a wink.

I was pretty impressed with the Lionel TMCC crane when was announced. Unfortunately it took a year of saving up to purchase it with all my other train irons in the fire so to speak. Luckily I found the Santa Fe crane on Ebay about a year and a half later at a 50.00 discount. What could be better? How about the TMCC boomcar with sounds that goes with it. WOW!! This piece is a must have for anyone who owns the crane. Of course it took a while to save and find one, but patience paid off. It's msrp is 209.00 and I was high bid for 146.00!!!
