Here is some pics of one of our OTTS members, Greg's layout. His layout is 22' x 45' and is still under construction.
This is part of his yard area. He also has tracks above it.
Now that 2 of the three legs of our museum layout have been framed, I set up some temp track to see what its going to be like.

Well, her'es a picture of The Weinermobile arriving in town !! They're trying to figure a way to unload it now !!
Here's a new way to move the track Depts'. cars, & eliminate a train crew !! A friend sent me these, but I worked with one of these trucks this past winter. It's got couplers, sand, & air for the train breaks.

John, I guess they can use that truck to unload the weinermobile! somebody needs to produce a working model of that critter.

Tom - in that bottom picture, is that your layout or your friends? Is that the Hobo Musical Water Tower on the right? What's that water tower on the left? Was that a Lionel or MTH accessory or who made it?

the bottom pics are of my layout. The water tower on the right is Lionel Hobo Musical Water Tower, as you noted.
The one on the left is an old Marks, (later K-Line sold them). Here is pic before hand. I added the wood siding ( Popsicle sticks)

I've been working on getting my backdrops worked out for the three background areas on the top tier of my layout in progress.
This is one section of a Walthers HO city scape I am going to put behind the existing buildings to represent the cityscape behind the current buildings:
This is also a Walthers backdrop. I enlarged the three foot wide HO background to 72" inches and printed it on one sheet. I am placing fronts in front of it and will landscape up to the mural in similar tones.
This is one of the freebies of the backdrop warehouse website, made for N Scale. I kept enlarging it until it was nine feet wide. I am going to take the right edge and print another section in mirror image to finish off the run and splice them together. ON teh long wall, I have built a cliffisde from ceiling tiles which projects up to the top of the white edge. I'm going to use "SuperTrees" on top to blend in with the trees printed in the background.
On the short wall, I have two industries which will cover the transition areas and the cliffside extends around the corner.

You had me ROTFL! I could see my mother in law doing the same thing. Good thing she lives 3+ hours away in Montgomery AL. I would not let her operate your trains either.

Jim, the spout is painted dark brown. Here are some pics that I took at the time
I like to see what other people have done on thier layouts as this gives me some ideas to add a few things. Spankybird, the rope lights for underneath lighting is very good. CXT, the truck pulling a few frieght cars I have seen down here in south Florida done by FEC (Florida East Coast Railway) near Stuart FL. The watertower that Spankybird is working on looks like a K-Line watertower, the Hershey's Chocolate Town watertower. If I can figuire out how to post photos on here I will soon.
