these devices are supposed connect to the tracks ---ross, gargraves and atlas-- with tiny little metal springs. Has anybody found a better way to have these devices connect?

I've used both on Ross switches.  I have had no problems.  The trick is getting the right spring with the correct switch.  If you have problems give the folks at DZ products a call.  They are very helpful.

I have ordered my DZ1000's & DZ1008's from Ross Custum Switches as DZ industries will not sell directly to the public. Info for wiring can be found on the GarGraves website, but no order info for DZ is on the GarGraves website unless they have updated it recently.  Maybe you can get DZ industry products elsewhere but this is how I got them.
