New Lionel Stuff

I know the catalog is not out yet or on-line but there is a way to see a sneak preview. Go to this site:

and just change the last number and you will see different pics from the catalog.

You can also go to the Lionel site and and go to the product area. Search for different things you might like to see. Type a search for "Big Boy" and you will find #11104. You will find the pics of the new Big Boy and the description.

Some really nice stuff.

I really want this Lionel power station car that reads track voltage. Always thought K-Line really captured the pOstwar feel with this novelty car.

The product navigator lists "collegiate collection" under the special series, and I would guess Lionel will be making a series of these boxcars. I saw 4 different cars, lettered for Alabama, Michigan, Oklahoma and Penn State on the website. Collect them all, or just wait until your favorite school appears!

Hmmm I must have missed the "Penn Technical Institute" Boxcar.  Must be there somewhere.

If they did one for San Diego State University, it wouldn't be a boxcar, it would HAVE to be a tankcar in the shape of a keg.

After doing some extensive trial and error with variation of number at the end of the link - I found the PWC set - its the 2551W 1960 Great Northern EP-5 6 car set - seems like a smart move on Lionel's part because most the rolling stock has already been issued. Looking forward to seeing the catalog in its entirenty.
