I had the same problem and cut 1/8" off of the diaphragms. That did the trick.

Having had a similar problem with a set of FA's I found that leaving off one or both diaphragms between cars helped. The diaphragms were keeping the cars from acheiving the needed angle to make the curve.

I recently purchased some K-Line 15" passenger cars advertised as being 31 inch radius compatible. They don't seem to be compatible with my Lionel O-31 tubular track. Is anybody aware of a mod that fixes the problem?
