DCC for AC tinplate/hirail?

You can get AC compatable DCC control equipment from DigiTrax. They make high current AC compatible equipment.

Strictly speaking, TMCC and PS-2/DCS are not DCC. They are digital command systems, but each is based on different technologies. You can get aftermarket Lionel equipment as well as TMCC compatable equipment from vendors like Train America (as Tim pointed out in the previous post) and Digital Dynamics. The main issue is getting the boards to fit within the confines of your equipment. At this point in time, MTH has decided to not license their technology.

Train America Studios (www.tastudios.com) makes systems to convert any 3-rail engine into full command equipped locomotive.

I have not heard that they can convert a 2-rail "S" gauge loco. But I would think, if you can fit the boards in, that it could be made to work. Contact TAS directly. They can answer your questions.

I'm aware of the MTH DCS and Lionel TrainMaster command control systems, but from what I have read, neither company offers retrofit electronics to convert pre-DCC AC trains. Does anyone make DCC electronics for AC power that are compatible with either system? I'm building an S gauge hirail layout and would like to wire it for command control instead of blocks.
