FasTrack Switch Question
Posted by SchemerBob on Friday, June 30, 2006 3:03 PM
OK. I am thinking of creating a moderately sized layout sometime soon, and I would like to have wide track, such as FasTrack O48, on the entire layout. O48 switches aren't even available (at least not in the 2005 II catalog), neither are manual versions. For the amount of switches I need, I would have to spend more than $800 on O60's. So I was wondering...for a freight yard, with relativly close tracks, would O42 equipment be able to go through an O36 switch if I took the 1/4 segment off the end? This way, I would only have to buy two O60 switches, and the rest be manual O36's.
Long live the BNSF .... AND its paint scheme. SchemerBob
