022 switches

I've been offered a lionel remote control unit and base very cheap, will it run postwar 022 switches? Can I use a TW transformer?I have all postwar engines right now but I might buy something modern someday.

If purchasing the cab-1 & the base unit, you will also need a powermaster to switch from command to conventional operation. I would think your TW transformer will work, but hopefully others will reply.

O-22 switches require that you use an SC-2 or ASC controller to trigger them. You will also need some type of remote power control to run the trains in walk around throttle mode. Power Master, new ZW or a TPC.

Basically, the powermaster and TPC both allow you to control the voltage on the track through the CAB-1. They also allow you to activate the whistle/horn and bell and interrupt the track current to activate the E-unit. This is the only way to control engines that are not equipped with TMCC.
