Maybe I'm not reading the question right, but it appears what you are looking for is a Lionel 6-5906 sound activation button.

If you want to buy one Burns electronics makes a good one. You can also make your own,as mentioned just search the forum here. Lionel aslo made a add on bell controller.

I added an OTT machine whistle/bell unit which also has a quick acting breaker. Not sure if they are still avalable.

HI GUY
I have changed my layout some, I now have three loops . I can control hore and whistle with the two controls of the ZW transformer . I would like to know if a whistle and horn button could be add to the other controls of the transformer .
I have a old repair book showing that lionel had a control addon # 147 a battery contolusing a 1.5 battery . i seamed easy to make . I check track votlage and found two to three volts of DC when pushing horn control on ZW control . I would like a wiring picture to make a botton for the third track . if it is posable to do Thankyou MODLE A
