After about a week of not hearing anything I was gettign kinda disscuraged. I still wanted a Beep and i found some on Ebay that were actualy cheaper than what it was going to cost me to det one directly from RMT, But After getting that call and actualy talking to him i was more than happy to pay the few extra dollars just for the great service.

That (to add to Dennis's comment) and to not bite off more than you can chew from a business perspective.

There's an old saying "you cannot please all the people all the time." Yet that seems to be the operating method of many of today's train makers, leading to heafty risky capital investments in a market that sometimes can only offer minimal return. I won't even mention lawsuits, inventory glut, fewer dealers, blowouts, lack of exposure/advertising or quality control.

Yep, Walter Matuch is really on to something - almost makes him look like an Einstein - but it's not like it's such a new idea.... it's just been nearly forgotten: Affordably priced, basic well made train products for the masses (ie: 027, non-scale), good customer service, and not so many new product introductions that he spoils his customers and puts himself in that same risky financial situation that others have done, of trying to please everyone.

The only other company Walter has riding in his little boat right now is Jerry Williams.

Got a call from Walter M.

I ordered a Beep from RMT's website last week and i was starting to wonder what was going on since the charge for the beep hadn't shown up on my bank account. Well, Two nights ago I came home and had a message on my machine from Walter at Read Made Toys informing me that the road number i ordered wasn't in stock and to give him a call back if I wanted a diffrent road number. So I called him back and its on its way. I just thought that that was cool.
