Joining sections of Gargraves track

If you are trying [:(!] to assemble new pieces of Gargraves track and the pins just won't go in, try this. Carefully pull the pieces from one end and gently tap into the other. Assembly goes much easier that way.[:D]

I used to use use a pair of vise grips with a pin clamped in half way.
Then you can sort ream the new piece.

I start the pin in a little bit with needle nose pliers, once started a tiny bit, I turn the pliers to their back side & tap the pin the rest of the way. Also do the same to the section going in the other section & then remove the pins & insert back into the other section. Just my method & it works real good for me.
Thanks,
