Jim A's layout. Lots of changes since we saw it in Jan.

Great job. He is a scenery expert. Hand made about everything.

Nice looking layout. I see you have (had?) a few NS engines. Hear tell Chief really likes NS....

Jim,
Nice layout. I see you keep good company. Amazing how he gets over the Yankee thing and actually socializes y'all. Just kidding, glad to see everyone getting together and having a good time with the trains. Did y'all get to a train store?

Wow - great layout and great pix. Thanks Chief and Jim. I wish I had an artistic bone in my body. I try, but it looks like somebody threw a hunk of trash on the table. I have a hard time putting Plasticville together[xx(]

NIce job

Very cool! Could you post a diagram of the layout? Is that fastrack or MTH track?

Very nice. From these pics, you can really see how the tunnel and backdrop make Jim's layout look much, much larger.

I think I saw a bag o GRITS in the CHIEFs right hand?
Better check around your layout, could be the exploding type?

Chief, thanks for posting these photos. I've been meaning to take some myself, but have been busy with Massachusetts new monsoon season.

Why is my expression that way in the first photo? I asked my mother-in-law to take a photo of Frank and I together. My father-in-law took the camera instead and proceded to drive me crazy with his complete inability to follow instructions on how to operate the shutter button on the camera. "Push it half way down, hold it there, wait for the light, then push it the rest of the way down". He kept pushing it half way down, then releasing it and pressing it all the way down . . . and did I mention he's the shakiest gun in the east?!

Dennis, we didn't get to visit a train store this time. We had hoped to, but USAir put the kybosh on that.

Jim, trackplan? It's 2 loops of FasTrack with a single siding. Nothing could be easier. The inner loop is just O36 curves, and the outside loop has two 4.5" pieces of track to make the loop wider. As basic a layout as one could possibly have.

I had a great time with the Chief last week. It was good to meet up with him again. The time went by too fast!

Thank you for all the nice comments, everyone. I'll try to get some close up shots of the layout soon.

Jim

Isn't it neat to see how you can build off something so simple as those two loops? Look at how he spaces his scenery and accessories. Very inspiring, Jim.
