I recently purchased the Lionel Mainline Auto crossing gate which come with the 153C contact switch. This switch is activated by down pressure. Once adjusted correctely, the switch work will with Fastrack. You can buy the 153C switch separately a various hobby supply stores for about $7.99.

Heres what the switch looks like:

Good Luck!

Lionel has the Accessory Activator Pack for FT that you can use to wire to the older crossing gate signals. It includes the wire too I believe. It comes with a 10" insulated section and two 5" insulated sections. Cost is $10.99 and it works quite well. I used it to operate my crossing gate and signals w/o any problems.

I don't use my fastrack too often, but my guess is that you would be able to solder the wires onto the outside of the rails and run the wires underneath the road bed. Or you could try to find a way to run them from the wires on the power lock on piece and set up some kind of activator at the block you want to use.

Adding a Crossing gate to Fastrack
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, June 2, 2006 12:55 PM
I've recently moved onto the new Fastrack. I have the new crossing gate track that is made for this track. It works nicely. I also want to add some of the older crossing gates to other parts of the track. Since I cannot use the clip-on, like with the old tubular track, how else can I attach the wiring? Had anyone tried this?
Thanks, Jim
