That's the US Army switcher from 1955, & you may find one at that price, but I think I have seen them go for a little more, at least on E-bay.
Also you might try Train City & some others that advertize in CTT.

Hello Locomotive681! Call the Trading Post Train shop in Cleveland,Ohio at 1-661-7300. The gent at the other end of the line will be Jim Berilla & ask him if he has a #41 for you to buy. & it will most certainly be over $50.00 no problem with that. He should have the new Postwar series version Lionel made a couple of years ago & that may be your better buy as they sell for far less than the originals do.Plus, you get a warrenty & a brand new product with no wear & tear as well. & he also has the other versions both old & new of the Motorized units Like the #53 Rio Grande Snow Plow,Canadian Pacific, etc. Hope this helps you out. Take Care.

As it happens I have a military set for sale with a 41 Army switcher at the point. Besides the engine it has two flat cars painted army green: one holds a camouflauged tank and the other holds three machine guns--all detachable. Also has caboose, track, and transformer. The 41 runs great but is missing one side rail. In top condition this engine alone is valued at $125; in good condition, $85. I'm asking $125 for the whole set, so in effect you get the cars, caboose, track, and transformer, plus the engine, for the price of an excellent condition engine alone. I can send pictures if you send me your e-mail address. My address is jandjgott@juno.com.
