I am a Toy-railer!!
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, May 29, 2006 9:01 PM
I just found out in the latest CTT that "toy-rail" is the opposite of hi-rail.....
I didn't know that! And I've been in this hobby since 1987! Before that, I was an HO scale "Model Railroader". Very serious, count rivets and never smile. Doing something "Un-prototypical" was an insult to the Dead and Holy Rairoad Men of the World. Never infuriate Our Fore-Fathers.

I am so glad that Papa brought over the old Lionel 1948 set for me and my boys. It changed my life forever. I saw the light, and now "Model Railroading" truly IS Fun!

CTT: Thanks for keeping an old boy's dream alive! I am proud to be a true-blue American Toy-railer and CTT subscriber.

Sincerely,
Santa Fe Kent

I like my Lionel trains so much that I sometimes get up at 2:00 am in the morning (I'm retired) to go run them. My wife just looks at my eyes for a while and wonders about me. Then says "yes go ahead dear " and goes back to bed . I don't know....
