A new Lionel Hudson
Posted by Train Memories on Saturday, May 27, 2006 10:31 PM
[?][?]
Does anyone know or have heard if Lionel will in the near future, be coming out with a new 4-6-4 Hudson (with all the latest tech stuff of todays engines?
I entered into all these fine Lionel's trains only about 3 yrs and although I have several scale engines, I don't have a Hudson. Thanks for any reply.

I remeber there was a Lionel Hudson made in 1999 and I believe a 763E style in like 1997 but I am not sure.

I prefer the 18005 700E from 1990. Much better than the original will negotiate an 042 curve and it smokes! Has Railsounds 1.

Scale J-3A was done in 2001 6-28072 and a scale Dreyfuss was done in 2002, 6-28084, and a LioneMaster semi-scale (2 " short of full scale) was done in 2003, 6-38085). I didn't pick up all of the flyers on the JLC series of locomotives so I don't know if one of these "special" locomotives was a Hudson or not. There may also have been one or more done in one of the Century Club series. I know an Emprire State Express one was offered in CC 2.

When I first started madly collecting trains Hudsons were scarce. Now we are awash in them. If you shop around you'll certainly find one and at a bargain price.[:D]

I thought Lionel came out with a Hudson train set as part of the Post War Celebration series about a year ago. There should be some of those still out there I would think.

George,
I know about this Lionel Hudson Train set. But this has no Odyssey System (speed control)
Does this mean you have to run it at 150 mph to keep it from not stopping on the turns, like back in the fifties I wonder.
