Enlarged some backdrop warehouse samples for background for the yet to be completed cliffside:



Have enough to cover the eight feet of wall going up the west side of the layout.

Also picked up an "Instant Horizons" HO backdrop and scanned it in sections up to "O" scale. Yet to be installed, but I think I have the right spot for it:



Made a fair amount of headway in finishing up Ivan's Market:







Got started on the sidewalk newstand for the side of the side of the market - all scratchbuilt:







All of the newstand magazines are magazine covers from the 30's reduced to "O" - too bad they're too small to see.

Also got started on the motorcycle repair shop at the dead end of Brace Avenue:

Your JC switcher, does it have the horn? The one I have had it removed prior to my ownership. I was thinking of installing a Williams sound system. Anyway, great shots, I was thinking of doing a similar thing with my backdrop.

Frank, Yeah, I think Walthers made about a million of the background buildings. I tried to individulize them a little. Also added lights & Interiors. One thing that is nice. Most of the people that view my latout never see any other ones so they don't know there are a million clones out there. I do like the Ameritown/OGR buildings better than the Walthers to light up. The walls are thicker and the lights do not glow through the walls. I had to line the Walthers buildings with black construction paper to stop that. Like yours these buildings are on a section of my layout which is only 12" deep so not much room to work with.

The Junction Traction Company rises again. First trolley ran on a loop today. The GG1 wasn't working for some reason.

Tmcc nice to have you back. Kudos Spanky on the nice craftsmanship; nice photos all! Frank, esp. like the step by step progress; that's fantastic.

Here are a few photos that I took of photos of my old layout. The night scene uses a dark light, time exposure and Tide heavy duty detergent to create the moon and stars. I used a compass and a star chart and plotted hundreds of stars and constellations in the exact positions on the walls and ceiling. It would be hard to describe in photos the mood and feeling of being able to see the night sky in a train room! I even created a lightning storm with a laser and a CD of a thunderstorm. I described this in great detail some time ago. When the lights come on, the stars disappear so you can make day/night scenes.

Also planted about 6 cherry trees and completed the new doggy door. Just have to sand and then paint the mud. BTW, the builders had hidden an outlet under the insulation that was HOT. Good thing I located it before punching thru the wall of the house. I moved it up and out of the way and will wire the outlet soon. Nice to have a spare plug or 2. Wonder how many other hidden things there are in the house?!

Hey all... I'm also a day late. Anyway, here are some pictures I took Saturday on the layout:



















Trains have been delayed today, as a rockslide caused a nasty wreck near a tunnel:
