Hi all, i guess im having a problem with my 221,it use to have 3 positions on my e-unit,now as of late it starts in neutral then reverse,then n,n,n,then forward,i may be crazy,but this seems like 3 to many neutral positions, is it screwed or is there a fix or remedy,i will add just started o27 railroading in november 2005, any help would be appreciated,thanks for answers ahead of time.kevin[V]

ah, E-unit problems. Certainly repairable but a slight pain unitl you become a pro at it.
Could be a bad drum or fingers or a combo of both.
What I usually do when this starts happening is to blast it with t.v. tuner spray first and try to wipe the drum clean with q-tips. If that doesn't fix it, then I just open 'er up and replace everything while i"m in there. New upper and lower fingers and a new drum. This procedure take dexterity and a lot of patience. If you need more help there's a lot of people here who know this well.

Hey Mike,the advice worked out great,i spent four hours at the bench and test track ,cleaning and manipulating the fingers,but now it is forward,n,reverse,n. So thank you very much sir.I do appreciate it, afterall i didn't even know where to start, KUDOS and thanks again.
